How to Buy RIPE IPv4

A simple guide to purchase RIPE IPv4 addresses, and transfer them quickly yet safely.

RIPE IP Transfer Requirements

RIPE is responsible for managing and assigning all of the IP address blocks within Europe & Middle East. Because RIPE ran out of IPv4, companies are forced to buy RIPE IP addresses on the secondary market. To acquire IP addresses, you need an RIPE LIR account and a reputable source that has access to clean unused IP addresses to sell.

With the support of our knowledgeable team, the IPv4 transfer process is always seamless. Our process demonstrate why top brands partner with IPv4 Connect for their ARIN IP address needs. Our dedicated team assists every step of the way, ensuring a smooth and comprehensive management of the transfer from start to finish.

Step 1 (1 – 2 Weeks)

Create RIPE LIR Account

To acquire RIPE IP addresses, you first need to register for an RIPE LIR account. Creating a RIPE account is a 3-step process to create and add users to it. If you don’t have an LIR account, you can still create a contact record and use a sponsoring LIR.

Step 1

Register a RIPE Account

Having an RIPE LIR account will allow you to manage different organizations, point of contact (POC) records, ASNs, and RIPE IP location. Registration is simple.

Step 2

Create a point of contact (POC)

Your personal point of contact record will link to you direclty and will allow management of IP address resources and different organizations

Step 3

Create an Organization Identified (Org-ID)

The Org-ID will be tied to your company. This will link directly to your ASN, RIPE IP addresses and POC records. RIPE may require certificate of good standing in some cases to approve an Org-ID

Step 2 ( 1 – 3 Days)

Buyer Pre-Approval

RIPE does not require a business case in order to acquire a RIPE IPv4 address block. With the exception of a transfer coming from ARIN or APNIC, which is referred as an inter-RIR transfer.

If IPs are transferred from ARIN or APNIC, RIPE will require proof of 50% IPv4 usage over 5 years. This request comes after approval by ARIN or APNIC.

Step 3 (1 – 5 Days)

RIPE IP Address Review

Once you have an LIR account, its time review a RIPE IP address block, verify a blacklist report and review & sign the purchase agreement. We offer a detailed blacklist report that ensures the IP addresses are guaranteed clean from any of the 100 global IP blacklists before you purchase them.

Info needed for a purchase agreement:

  • Legal entity name, and country
  • RIPE Org-ID
  • Details for the person authorized to sign
